On Saturday 21st November 2009 AJF once again catered for the end of season dinner party at Burghfield Sailing Club. Below are views from a couple of members who attended;

Pat,

Just a quick note to say how much we enjoyed Saturday evening - the company was very nice, the food excellent (although I am still paying the price for not sharing my chocolate dessert!), the music was good, and the magicians were so clever!

So our thanks to all those involved, and we hope to see a similar event before too long!

Just as a long shot, if anyone found a shirt stud, I am missing one, so...

Many thanks again,

Kind Regards,

Ian

Just to say that Gary and team produced an excellent menu on Saturday at the sailing club.  Everything ran without a hitch, very professional, and the food  was fantastic. We’ve had great feedback from the guests.

For some reason I don’t have Gary’s email address (we texted a lot!)  please pass on our thanks.

On behalf of the club:  well done and many thanks!

Richard

The August bank holiday weekend 2009 was the busiest yet for the team at AJF Catering who, in addition their normal activities took on the catering for the 920 members of the Reading Rock Festival staff encamped at Reading Town Football Club.

Food service ran from 7.00am right round to 3.00am each day and the busiest breakfast service on Saturday saw the sale of more than 130 kilos of bacon – more than our rather large Chairman weighs!!

The fresh fruit salads put Chef Director Kyrans knife skills to the test in the extreme with more than four hours each day peeling and chopping fruits for the continental breakfast option – and not a single blue plaster anywhere!

The team who ran the event – Antony Flatman, Kyran O’Neill, Chris Goddard, Kendall Goddard and Kaleigh Goddard managed some two hours sleep a night (including Fosters time) during this punishing event and must be congratulated for their superhuman efforts all of which were accomplished without any loss of sense of humour.

It wasn’t just the festival that kept the team busy over the bank holiday, our other locations ran as normal and at newly refurbished Reading Golf Club, just keep the team on it’s toes, the bank holiday weekend saw AJF catering for a Golf Society Dinner, a Mixed Golf Supper, a Juniors Dinner, a Club Match Dinner and topped it all with a Fine Dining Four Course meal for 10 who tipped generously.

Our special thanks go to Roland Ford, Eamon Pryle, John Lipton and the rest of the team who created the opportunity and facilitated the Reading Rock Festival staff catering event for us.
